- Security Level -

This setting allows you to set a security level for the specified child. This one-click setting will affect the security features for all the applications in the community, i.e., email, chat, browsing, etc. After a setting is selected, you can then refine individual settings. If you chose to modify individual settings, then the security level will indicate ‘Custom’.

There are three standand security levels: High, Medium, and Low. The effect of each of these settings is explained below:

Security Level –Low

This setting is recommended for teens. Your child is allowed to receive

emails from approved buddies, browse non-adult oriented websites, but

they are not allowed access to the chat rooms.

Browsing – Porn filter is enabled preventing access to adult-oriented

websites. Access to only the child-approved list of websites is not

enforced.

Email – email is allowed, but child can only open emails received from

approved ‘Buddy List. Access to the folder containing emails from

people not in the approved ‘Buddy List’ is allowed. The child will not be

able to open these emails, only view the subject line. If your child

determines that one of these emails is valid and wants access, they can

make a request to you to add the sender to the approved ‘Buddy List’.

Chat – access to chat rooms is not allowed.

Security Level – Medium

This is the standard setting for most children. Your child is allowed

to receive emails from approved buddies, browse websites in CEN Approved

List, but they are not allowed access to the chat rooms.

Browsing – access is only allowed to the list of child-approved

websites.

Email – email is allowed, but child can only open emails received from

approved ‘Buddy List. Access to the folder containing emails from

people not in the approved ‘Buddy List’ is not allowed.

Chat – access to chat rooms is not allowed.

Security Level – High

This is the most stringent security setting, with the highest level of

security enforced for all community features. This is the appropriate

setting for younger children or for parents who want the highest level

of assurance for a child while accessing the Internet.

Browsing – access is only allowed to the list of child-approved

websites. In addition any subsequent links from a website are banned unless

they are also in the include list.

Email – email is allowed, but child can only open emails received from

approved ‘Buddy List. Access to the folder containing emails from

people not in the approved ‘Buddy List’ is not allowed.

Chat – access to chat rooms is not allowed.
