HOW TO INSTALL THE BROWSER - for those of you who simply want to start protecting your children now! Click Install and follow the directions. For those of us who might be more computer challenged, here are some additional instructions to simply run the install from the CD.

We have included the Mommy Magic Browser on this CD (it is located in the browser directory and called mommymagic_browser.exe Should you have trouble loading it you can find additional instructions here., We encourage you to freely distribute the browser, so should you decide to send it to a friend, they can download it from our web site. http://www.mommymagicbrowser.com

Click here and the install process should start. The first question is would you like to download or run?

Answer run.

It will ask you a few questions during the install, simply take the defaults, or if you are more computer savvy, you can change some of the items, like the setup directory.

The default setup directory is normally C: but it is really based on what your boot drive is.

When it is done running the install you receive a message that says:

Application has been installed successfully, Now the Installation Program is going to launch it.

Answer OK

You will notice a red heart icon in your system tray. This is the control panel for the browser. More on that later.

The browser takes you to a Parent Login popup page. Don't worry if at places you see the Children's Educational Network logo, they are our partners. We are working closely with them to make this as easy as possible.

Since at this time you have launched the browser you won't have a Parental Login.

At the bottom is a button "I don't have a username. I need to Register!" that allows you to register for free to obtain one.

YOU NEED TO BE CONNECTED to the INTERNET to finish the process, so if you have to dial in, or manually connect, please do that now.

Click on the I don't have a username. I need to Register! button.

A window pops up, notice the Mommy Magic, It's All About Heart icon in the upper left corner. The popup has an audio message from CEO and founder of Children's Educational Network, Greg Writer. He is very helpful during the installation process, so make certain to have your speakers turned on!

You will need to enter the Mommy Magic Registration Code

Click Submit

Next you will see a popup Parent Information screen (you're almost finished!) this will ask for the following:

I am 18 years or older (Y/N)
Parent/Guardian First Name, MI, Last Name
Email, Address1, Address2, City, ST, Zip, Country, Telephone

After registration you will be directed to a screen where you can create your Parental Login/Password, as well as a personal screen name/password for each child. The Mommy Magic Browser also provides age groups, so that age appropriate information can be displayed to each of your children. Our goal is to make this easy and yet powerful so you can keep YOUR children safe!

Be certain to add support@kidsafe.com to your spam filters so we can properly communicate with you.

Please keep your Parental Login/Password safe as you will need it to configure your children's login id to chat, email and surf the web. As a parent you can have as much or as little control as you would like. Just so you don't have to give permission for every web page you would like your child to visit, we have pre-configured the community with lots of cool, fun yet safe web sites where they can visit. Remember with your Parental Login you can add/remove web sites to your child's login at any time.

Once you have filled in all the information you can launch the Mommy Magic Browser and know that your children are protected on the Internet!

One more feature that can be enabled, which really sets the Mommy Magic Browser apart from all other browsers, adds more features, and goes way beyond basic filtering is the Internet Protection Module (tm) (IPM).

Our Internet Protection Module (tm) - allows the computer on which it is installed to LOCK OUT all other browsers!

Why is this so important to turn on? Why do we ship our browser with it turned off?

With most programs that attempt to keep children safe on the Internet there are easy bypasses. Often when they are installed the first thing children do is surf the web to find out how to bypass the protection. Yes, Moms and Dads, the truth is that our children are smarter than we are when it comes to computers, and if there is a bypass they can find it.

The Internet Protection Module blocks usage of all other browsers as soon as the computer is rebooted. Any time another browser attempts to connect to web sites an error is returned, and the attempt to connect is blocked. Children cannot bypass the browser! Parents, you once again have peace of mind and control! Relax knowing your children are safe!

Internet Protection Module is a feature that prevents your kids from bypassing the security of our kid-safe browser community by accessing the Internet through unprotected programs (such as browsers like Internet Explorer or Netscape, Firefox, Microsoft Word/Excell and the Windows Task Manager “Ctrl-Alt-Del” function).

It also prevents your kids from accessing the Internet through programs with built-in browsing capabilities such as, Microsoft Word and Excel. Internet Protection Module will still permit your children to use these programs, but it prevents your kids from using them to browse.

Why do we ship it with it turned off?
We originally shipped it with it turned on, but then we found people didn't realize they had to enter their parental login/password to check email. Since we sent them all these instructions via email, they couldn't read them with the Internet Protection Module turned on, so we started shipping the browser with it turned off.

We recommend that immediately after installation that the parent turn on Internet Protection Module.

To TURN ON Internet Protection Module

Launch the Mommy Magic Browser
If you're signed in as a child, and need to get to the Parent Login
Go to childrenseducationalnetwork.com in the upper right hand corner is a Parents Login
Enter your Username and Password
This will bring you to the Parent Administration page
To ENABLE IPM pick Security Settings, click YES, SAVE
You will receive a message saying your changes were received
Reboot to activate it
IPM is now enabled

If you signed on with your Parental Browser
Select Tools from the main menu
Select Parent Administration
Login with your parental password if it asks
To ENABLE IPM pick Security Settings, click YES, SAVE
You will receive a message saying your changes were received
Reboot to activate it
IPM is now enabled
